In a press briefing held on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at the Office of the Adviser to the Katsina State Governor on Health Institutions, Honorable Umar Mammada announced the findings of a recent inspection into private health training institutions across the state. The schools were evaluated based on their adherence to government standards and divided into three categories: those fully compliant, those with partial compliance, and those failing to meet required standards, resulting in immediate closure.

Eight institutions met all regulatory requirements and have been granted permission to continue operations. The approved institutions are:

1. ESS EMM College of Nursing Sciences

2. Bawo College of Nursing Sciences

3. Cherish College of Nursing

4. Northwest College of Nursing Sciences

5. Muslim Community College of Health Science and Technology

6. Cherish College of Health Science and Technology

7. Khuddam School of Health Technology

8. Cognate School of Health Technology

These schools will proceed with minor adjustments to address specific issues identified.

**Institutions with Partial Compliance**

Seven institutions were found to have minor compliance gaps. They have been advised to address these deficiencies before resuming operations. The institutions in this category include:

3. GIAL College of Health Science and Technology and Environmental Science

4. Kebram College of Health Science and Technology

5. Barda College of Health Science and Technology

**Institutions Ordered to Close for Failing to Meet Standards**

Fourteen institutions were found to lack critical regulatory compliance, particularly in areas such as teaching licenses, infrastructure, faculty qualifications, and educational programs. These institutions are:

3. Katsina College of Health Science and Technology Limited

7. MS Abubakar College of Health Science and Technology

8. Halima Adamu School of Health Technology, Malumfashi

9. Empirical School of Health Science and Technology

10. Kingdom College of Health Science and Technology

11. Umar Farooq Bilingual College of Nursing Sciences, Daura

12. Katman School of Health Technology, Daura

13. Alkalam University Katsina Consultancy Services

The government cited the lack of essential approvals, inadequate facilities, insufficiently qualified faculty, and substandard curricula as the primary reasons for these closures. Additionally, some institutions lacked the necessary licenses to operate as health training centers.

Mammada assured that the government is exploring ways to support affected students in continuing their education without interruption. Updates will be provided to students and the public regarding the status of each institution as necessary.
